For the driver who would drive an old Oldsmobile or a Buick, but calls french fries “chips” and the hood a “bonnet”.
so british
Even has a badge on the back boasting that it has an automatic transmission. Because fuck you, that’s why.
It’s like if the Vagabond Falcon went to Oxford.

funny how Ford has passed the “Zephyr” nameplate around to all three brands. first was a Lincoln in the ‘40s:
Then the Ford you posted. Then used in the ‘80s for the Mercury twin of the Fairmont:
then back to Lincoln again for this thing (for only one year)
I’m surprised there wasn’t an Edsel Zephyr too.

Nobody I can think of makes a simple rwd coupe that doesn’t have a pony car or sports car body anymore.
Like you can say BMW but i’d hardly call them simple or an everyman’s car. Like a notchback fox mustang or 240SX is what i’m thinking. Even a regular R32 skyline is like that. All the cars I think of that come close are a sedan or are just a commuter car fwd. Then you have the cars like the Scion FRS which definitely fits into more of a sports car or pony car style. The BMW 2 series is all that comes to mind but for $30k+ for the slow version doesn’t really cut it for me.

The Mk2 Zephyr was a lovely car. The Mk3 looked like a Volger.
Estate.
For the U.S. OPPOs that like their car with plenty of wood.
There is the Mk2 Woody estate.
I’ll take mine with the roof off.
